Scorsese's Departed

Went to go see The Departed (currently #48 on imdb's top 250) last night at the theatre. I forgot it was a Scorsese film until I started noticing all the awesome music being played. That and Leo seems to be in all his films these days.

If you'e not a fan of seeing a hundred scenes of people getting shot in the head, then you might not like this movie. Other wise, it's a pretty great flick.

Some of my favourite actors, including Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin and Jack Nicholson, play great roles in the movie. Wahlberg plays a cocky guy with a nack for irritating interogees and plays along nicely with Alec Balwin's hard-assed character reminiscent of the infamous Glengarry Glen Ross scene. Apparently Nicholson initially turned down the role of Frank Costello, but eventually agreed because he wanted to do a bad guy character since he's been doing mostly comedies recently (good lord!).
