WorldChanging Toronto

Went to the WorldChanging book launch here in Toronto last night. I was surprised to see so many people there that there was hardly any room to see the speakers.

Guests included Alex Steffen (editor of Worldchanging), Ron Dembo (CEO of Zerofootprint), and Edward Burtynsky (photographer and Worldchanging board member).

The book itself is full of new innovations and ideas to help keep the world sustainable and a better place in general. One of the most interesting things mentioned was a type of flower that is being planted in mine fields. It has been modified to change colour in the presence of certain chemicals, so if it's planted near a mine it will bloom as a red flower, otherwise it will stay white.

I picked up a copy of the book and still have much to browse through (it's huge!).
